Virtual Access FAQs

General Information

I AM A VIRTUAL ACCESS-ONLY REGISTRANT, WHAT DOES THIS INCLUDE?

For virtual access-only registrants, your sessions occur over two days, October 13-14 . You start on opening day (October 13) with livestreaming of the general session. Twenty concurrent sessions have been pre-selected and will cover both Magnet and Pathway topics. Ten concurrent sessions will be released each day of the two-day virtual access. Pre-selection is not required. Posters will also be available for viewing starting on October 12. You can view the posters and concurrent sessions, on-demand via the virtual access platform, through December 2, 2022.

On day two (October 14), livestreaming includes organizational and individual nurse awards plus the keynote speaker! Access continues for the 20 concurrent sessions and posters, on-demand, through December 2, 2022. Attendees must complete concurrent and poster evaluations by December 19 to obtain CNE credit.

WHAT TIME ZONE IS BEING USED FOR THE VIRTUAL EVENT?

The Conference schedule will run based on Eastern Standard Time.

HOW DO I LOG INTO THE VIRTUAL PLATFORM AND ATTEND THE EVENT?

On Wednesday, October 12, you will receive a welcome email from noreply@anaevirtualevents.org  with details on how to set up a password and log into the virtual event site. These instructions will be sent to the email address with which you registered. We recommend you add noreply@anaevirtualevents.org to your Safe Sender list and check your junk, spam, or clutter folders to locate the welcome message, if you do not initially see it. If you have not received this email by 6:00 p.m. on October 12 , please notify ANAE   for assistance.

We strongly recommend that you take a few minutes to add your profile photo, build your schedule and familiarize yourself with the event platform prior to the beginning of live sessions.

DO IN-PERSON ATTENDEES HAVE ACCESS TO THE VIRTUAL PLATFORM?

As an in-person attendee, you will have access to the virtual platform beginning on Wednesday, October 12 at 10:00 a.m EST. All in-person attendees are automatically registered for the Virtual Access portion of the conference and should follow the same instructions given above for the virtual attendees.

While onsite you do not need to log in – you can wait until after October 15.

Technology

WHAT INTERNET BROWSER SHOULD I USE?

For best performance and compatibility, we recommend using Google Chrome – and please make sure you have the most up to date version. The platform will not perform reliably using other browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari.

CAN I ATTEND THE EVENT USING MY SMARTPHONE OR TABLET?

While the site is enabled for mobile devices, including smartphone and tablet, we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer for an optimal user experience.

WHAT INTERNET CAPACITY IS RECOMMENDED?

You should use a strong connection with a dedicated speed of at least 3 Mbps. If your connection is slower, you may still participate but load times may be longer than normal, and live stream sessions may buffer occasionally. To test the speed of your internet, please click on https://www.speedtest.net/ and click “Go”.

Other helpful tips include:

  • Connect to the internet using a network cable rather than using a wireless network.
  • Disconnect other devices in your household from your wireless network.
  • Disconnect from VPN or corporate networks (if possible).
  • Close any unnecessary applications.
  • Refrain from browsing the internet, streaming media and/or downloading large files while participating in the event.

WILL I NEED SPECIFIC TECHNOLOGY TO ATTEND SESSIONS?

We recommend you download the Zoom Client for Meetings to your laptop or desktop computer, and make sure you’re using the most updated version of the app.  All roundtable discussions will be broadcast via Zoom. PLEASE NOTE: if you have any company firewalls that may block the use of Zoom, these need to be disabled in order to participate in conference sessions.

WILL VIRTUAL ACCESS ATTENDEES HAVE ACCESS TO THE CONFERENCE MOBILE APP?

Virtual access attendees will not have access to the Conference Mobile App. If virtual attendees attempt to download the app, they will be able to download it, but once downloaded you will not be able to access features. Only in-person attendees will have access to features downloaded on the Conference Mobile App.
